CPD Mental Health Workshops

Past Events

Thank you to all who participated in our 2023 series of continuing education workshops! We had nearly 500 participants join us at our two major Mental Health Workshops. It was a fantastic year of learning, professional development, and community building. Here's what we offered in 2023:

Latina/e/o Youth Mental Health Care Symposium - September 24, 2023

  • Co-sponsored by San Mateo Union High School District and Latinos for Education, this engaging symposium brought together close to 200 teachers and mental health providers together to effectively address the mental health care needs of our Latina/e/o Youth.
  • Our presenters included Dr. Annya Artigas, Kathryn (Kitzi) Hendricks, LMFT, PPSC, Veronica Gamboa, LMFT, Cynthia Leyva, Dr. Martha Hernández, and Dr. Alice P. Villatoro. They shared their expertise with candor and professionalism that was inspirational to many.
  • The symposium also included a diverse panel of students, teachers, parents, and school counselors who inspired the audience to take action by understanding multiple perspectives. Our dedicated and brave panelists included, Angela Brittain (student), Leticia Cottrell (family engagement),  Dr. Carmina Mendoza (parent), Alexis Becerra and Samiko Shiroma (mental health providers)
