Section 18.2  Safety Regulations

(18.2.1)  Bicycles and coasting devices cannot be used in any manner that places pedestrians at risk; their use for acrobatic, racing or other stunts is strictly prohibited.

(18.2.2)  Riders must always yield to pedestrians. Bicycles and coasting devices must be walked in crosswalks, both on university property and on the perimeter of campus.

(18.2.3)  Coasting devices are to be walked on sidewalks in designated areas delineated by signage.  For rider safety, coasting devices are discouraged from use on University parking lots and all parking structures. 

(18.2.4)  The use of coasting devices or bicycles is strictly prohibited in the Mission Gardens, within any building on the SCU campuses or on any surface features (e.g., handicapped ramps, retaining walls, handrails, benches, or other architectural features) that might reasonably be expected to incur damage because of such use. 

(18.2.5)  Roller skates or rollerblades must be removed before entering all university buildings.

(18.2.6)  For safety reasons, a person riding a bicycle or coasting device on campus, may not wear a headset or earplugs in both ears. 

(18.2.7)  Bicycles must be ridden with at least one hand on the handlebars at all times while on university property.
