- Started in September 2008
- Position Description
- Promoting the program "Resources not Victims"
- Creating a University that, in the case of an emergency, is prepared enough to act as a resource to ourselves and the community, instead of being a victim
- Preparing pandemic response plans
- Work with Red Cross and Santa Clara County Emergency Operations Center to utilize the SCU campus and community and its resources in case of an emergency
- "I was a Boy Scout for many years growing up. I am a USF grad and past president of the USF Alumni Association. I was in the US Air Force Reserve for 28 years. I worked with Pacific Bell for 19 years, and I was a Red Cross volunteer since the 1989 Loma Prieza Quake. So security and preparedness has always been in my blood."
- "Part of the reason this job is so important to me, is because I have family all around me. I have four daughters, three of which live in the area with my four grandchildren, so being prepared will affect me personally. But it is not only my daughters I want to help, it is my Santa Clara family as well. Between all of the friends, Jesuits and connections here on campus, I really feel like the entire community is my family."
- "Preparedness is my hobby, its fun when it works. I also enjoy backpacking, cross-country skiing, participating in running club activities, and being a part of alumni involvement."
