Unfired Pressure Vessels


The SCU Unfired Pressure Vessel Program provides the steps to comply with Cal/OSHA and campus insurance requirements.  An Unfired Pressure Vessel is defined as a tank that holds gas or material with more than 15 psi of pressure.  Vessels that have an inside diameter not exceeding 6 inches are exempt as long as equipped with an appropriately sized relief device and designed in accordance with an appropriate engineering code.
